Florida Highway Patrol investigates crash.
A 31-year-old Sebastian man died Tuesday after his motorcycle struck a flatbed tow truck on U.S. Highway 1.
The Florida Highway Patrol told Sebastian Daily that the motorcycle was traveling south on U.S. Highway 1 in the inside lane when the tow truck was traveling east on 99th Street.
The tow truck turned north on U.S. Highway 1, and the motorcycle collided with the rear of the flatbed.
The motorcycle driver succumbed to the injuries caused by the crash and was pronounced deceased on the scene. The case is still pending an investigation by FHP.
The fatal motorcycle crash caused U.S. Highway 1 to shut down between Barber Street and Schumann Drive.
FHP has not publicly released the name of the motorcyclist.
